Finally Free

lyrics

Malcolm set fire to the Veil,
And it spiraled in circles
Into the Sea of the Endless Night.

The air began to rumble
And howl in fury;
The earth was shaking like a rocket taking flight.

And I clearly heard the call of the open sky,
A cold hard wind tumblin' 'tween the black and white.

Stone walls crumbled into rubble,
As the wild wind thundered,
The fire grew and drove us to the islands edge,

And we leapt out over the rocks,
From 12 stories high;
It was the only chance we had left.

And as I hung in the air, a stone between the sea and sky,
That cold hard wind for a moment helped me fly.

I could feel the heavens growing,
Outside of the rusted walls.
Though we might not make it back, or be found,
I'll never touch the ground;
We are Finally Free

And I'd stop to take a breath,
But that cold iron curse
Would surely swallow me up in regret.

And I feel like that hound's
Always right round the corner,
But he ain't brought me down yet.

And so I'll live on the run, maybe for the rest of my life,
Each day one more day, each night one last night...

I can feel the heavens glowing,
Outside of This Little Round World.
Until the dust from the past settles down,
I'll never touch the ground;
We are Finally Free.
